Sometimes we all come a little hard-up for cash. That’s normal! There’s no reason to feel bad about coming up short. When you need a bit of extra dough to help make it through a tough month, it can be hard to think of good ways to make cash quickly. However, there are some easy things you can do today to make some money.

And no, those things aren’t illegal. Here are our tips for making a bit of money on the side to help make it to payday.

Sell Your Old Clothes

This one often blows peoples’ minds. If you’ve got a closet full of clothes you barely wear, you could make a bit of money. Head to a secondhand clothing store, like Plato’s Closet, and see if you can get a few bucks for your old threads. This is a great way to reduce the amount of stuff in your house while increasing the amount of change in your pocket!

There are even online retailers that will purchase your old clothes. Poshmark, ThredUP, and the like will offer you money for clothes you’re not wearing. This is a great way to efficiently make use of your old clothes.

Pick Up Odd Jobs

There’s nothing wrong with a bit of old-fashioned work. Maybe your neighbor needs their grass cut, or their dog walked. You could pick up an app like Uber or GrubHub and use your vehicle to make some spending money. There’s also Craigslist, where you can look for odd jobs that could help you make ends meet until the next pay day.

These jobs might be a bit on the more labor-intensive side. However, they’re a great way to get a couple of bucks in your pocket, and quickly.

Yard Sale

Dive into the shed and bust out some old tools you’re not using anymore. Pull your games, books, and movies you don’t use, and throw it all outside on folding tables. Draw up a big sign that says “Yard Sale” and get up early on a Saturday morning to hawk your old stuff.

You’d be amazed at the turnout you can get for a yard sale. People love cruising the neighborhood and looking for deals on the best secondhand stuff. You might find yourself with a considerable windfall if you have enough old goodies to part with. While this won’t work all the time, in a pinch, it’s a solid way to make a few bucks.
